Common questions

Someone shared a recording with me. Where is it?

You'll get an email with a link to the transcript — no account needed to view it. If you use Record.org yourself, verify that email address in Profile and shared recordings will also appear inside your own app, including live transcripts of recordings still in progress.

Why hasn't my recording been transcribed yet?

The live transcript appears while you record; the final transcript, speaker labels, and summaries are produced on our servers and usually arrive within a few minutes of stopping. Long recordings take longer. If a recording is stuck for more than an hour, email us.

How does speaker recognition work?

Recordings are split by voice automatically. When you name a speaker, Record.org builds a voice profile so the same person is recognized in later recordings. You can rename speakers anytime, and remove saved speakers from the app.

Is my data private?

You sign in with Apple — we never see a password. Audio and transcripts are stored on our servers so they can be transcribed, summarized, and synced across your devices, and are only visible to you and the people you explicitly share with. We don't sell data or show ads. The app is free.

How do I delete my data or my account?

Delete any recording from the app or web — that removes its audio, transcript, and summaries from our servers. To delete your entire account and everything in it, email support@expaproject.com from the address on your account and we'll confirm and complete it.

Can I record other people?

Laws about recording conversations vary by place. You're responsible for complying with local law — when in doubt, ask for consent before recording.
